Why I Upgraded

Installation Steps

Step 1: Unbox and Inspect

Take everything out of the box and lay it out. Make sure you have the main head unit, the wiring harness, and all the brackets. The 9.7-inch QLED display looks even better in person — glossy, bright, and the build quality feels solid.

Step 2: Pop Off the Factory Radio Trim

Grab a plastic trim tool and gently pry around the edges of the factory radio bezel. Start from the bottom corners and work your way around. It's held in by clips, so you'll hear them pop loose. Take your time — no need to force anything.

Step 3: Remove the Mounting Bracket

With the trim panel off, you'll see the metal bracket holding the old radio. Pull it forward to expose the screws hidden underneath. This gives you access to everything you need to remove next.

Step 4: Unscrew the Lower Dash Panel

There are several screws around the gear shifter area holding the lower trim in place. Use a screwdriver to remove them all. They're all standard fasteners — nothing tricky.

Step 5: Lift Off the Lower Trim

Once all the screws are out, carefully lift away the entire lower plastic trim piece. This fully exposes the mounting cavity. You should now see the factory wiring harness and plenty of room to work.

Step 6: Connect and Mount the New Unit

Plug the wiring harness into the back of the new Topdisplay head unit, then carefully slide the main chassis into the dash cavity. It fits snugly into the factory mounting points. Secure it with the screws you removed earlier.

Step 7: Power On and Test

Reconnect the battery, fire it up, and test everything. Wireless CarPlay connects within seconds. Check the touch response, steering wheel controls, backup camera (if you have one), and climate controls. Everything should work right out of the box.
