Installation Steps

Follow these 7 steps to install your Topdisplay stereo. Each step includes a real installation photo for reference. Always disconnect the vehicle battery before starting any electrical work.

Step 1: Remove the Factory Trim Panels

Remove the screws beneath the top decorative panel. Use a plastic trim removal tool to gently pry off the silver bezel surrounding the factory radio and air vents. Work your way around the edges slowly to avoid breaking the clips. Once loose, pull the trim piece away and set it aside.

Step 2: Remove the Factory Radio

With the trim removed, you will see the factory radio secured by screws. Carefully pull the factory radio out of the dashboard cavity and disconnect all wiring connectors from the back of the unit.

Step 3: Connect the Topdisplay Wiring Harness

Take the included Topdisplay plug-and-play harness and connect it to the factory wiring connectors inside the dashboard. No cutting or splicing is needed — every connector is designed to match the factory plugs directly. Also connect the CAN bus decoder box, GPS antenna, and any additional cables such as the backup camera retention harness.

Step 4: Power On & Test BEFORE Final Mount

CRITICAL STEP

Before securing the unit into the dashboard, connect the main power harness and turn on the ignition. The Topdisplay screen should light up and display the boot logo. Test the touch screen, verify Wireless CarPlay or Android Auto connection, check that steering wheel controls respond, and confirm sound output from all speakers. This is the most important step — catching any issues now saves you from having to remove everything later.

Step 5: Mount the Unit and Reinstall Trim

After confirming everything works, carefully slide the Topdisplay unit into the dashboard cavity. Tuck the wiring harness neatly behind the unit to avoid pinching. Align the custom trim bezel that came with your Topdisplay stereo and gently snap it into place, working from the top down. Make sure all clips are fully seated and the panel sits flush with the dashboard.

Step 6: Final Check — Backup Camera & OEM Controls

Your installation is now complete. Perform one final check: shift into reverse to verify the backup camera displays correctly on the 9.7-inch QLED screen with parking guidelines. Cycle through all OEM steering wheel controls — volume, track skip, voice assistant, and phone buttons — to ensure full retention.
