Tired of the old RAM's dated factory radio, I finally swapped in a Topdisplay 10.1-inch head unit. No shop, no jargon — just the real steps from start to finish.

Before You Start — Quick Answers

Will it damage my car? No. It is plug-and-play with the factory harness — no cutting or splicing. Every trim piece clips back on exactly the way it came off.

Do I need professional tools? No. A trim pry tool and a screwdriver were all I used. Nothing specialized.

Is it hard to install? Not really. If you can remove a few trim clips and plug in a harness, you can do this. Maybe a 3 out of 10.

Will it keep my OEM features? Yes. Factory steering-wheel controls and vehicle settings all still work through the new screen.

The Install — Step by Step

Step 1 — Remove the Factory Panel

Pry the trim loose and unclip the factory panel to expose the radio.

Step 2 — Remove the Factory Radio

Undo the mounting screws and pull the old radio out of the dash.

Step 3 — Fit the New Mounting Bracket

Bolt the Topdisplay bracket into place so the new unit has something solid to sit in.

Step 4 — Connect the Main Harness

Plug in the main power harness and the CANBUS module. Everything is plug-and-play.

Step 5 — Plug in Camera, USB, GPS & Antenna

Connect the backup camera, USB, GPS and radio antenna leads to the back of the unit.

Step 6 — Seat the New 10.1-inch Display

Clip the 10.1-inch QLED screen into the dash and press it flush.

Step 7 — Power On & Test

Turn the key and watch it boot. Test wireless CarPlay, navigation and the touch screen.

Final Install Summary

Total time: roughly 10–15 minutes of hands-on work, exactly as shown in the video.
