Installation Steps

Follow the 9 steps below to install the TopDisplay module in your F-150.

Step 1: Prepare the Vehicle

Park the Ford F-150 on a level surface, engage the parking brake, and turn off the ignition. Let the vehicle sit for 10 minutes so all capacitors drain. The TopDisplay module is a true plug-and-play upgrade — no dealer coding, wire cutting, or laptop programming is needed, so preparation is simple.

Step 2: Disconnect the Battery

Open the hood and use a wrench to loosen the negative battery terminal. Remove the cable and secure it away from the post. This protects the delicate circuitry of both the factory harness and the new TopDisplay module during installation.

Step 3: Remove the Dash Trim Panel

Using a plastic trim-removal tool, gently pry the center dash bezel around the factory Sync screen. The TopDisplay kit is engineered for factory-fit mounting — it uses the exact same bracket locations and clip points, so no dash modifications are ever required.

Step 4: Unplug the Original Sync Module

Press the release tabs on each connector attached to the stock Sync module and unplug every harness — main power, USB, AM/FM antenna, and GPS. All original connectors are fully compatible with the TopDisplay unit, maintaining every OEM feature from day one.

Step 5: Remove the Factory Sync Module

Remove the 4 screws securing the lag-prone factory Sync module and slide it out of the dash cavity. The stock unit's slow boot times and frozen screens are about to be replaced by TopDisplay's lag-free octa-core performance and crisp HD IPS display.

Step 6: Install the TopDisplay Module

Slide the TopDisplay module into the factory dash opening and secure it with the original screws. Its precisely molded housing sits flush with the dash, giving the cabin a clean, OEM+ appearance with a screen that is 2.5× sharper than the original panel.

Step 7: Reconnect All Wiring Harnesses

Plug every factory connector into the matching ports on the TopDisplay module. The keyed connectors click securely into place. Once powered, the module auto-detects the vehicle profile and enables Wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth 5.0, and GPS navigation without extra adapters.

Step 8: Reassemble the Dash Trim Panel

Align the center dash bezel and press it firmly until all clips snap back into place. Reconnect the negative battery cable and tighten the 10 mm clamp. Because TopDisplay is a native-fit upgrade, every stock clip, screw, and cover goes back exactly as it came off.

Step 9: Power On and Test
