Installation Steps

Step 1: Disconnect the Battery

Safety first — always. Pop the hood, grab your 10mm socket, and disconnect the negative battery terminal. This prevents any electrical shorts while you're working behind the dash. Tuck the cable aside so it doesn't accidentally spring back onto the terminal.

Step 2: Remove the Factory Dash Trim

Grab your plastic pry tool and start at the edges of the dash trim surrounding the radio and climate controls. The trim is held in by metal spring clips — work your way around gently, and the entire panel pops right off. Set it aside somewhere safe; you'll need to reinstall it later.

Step 3: Disconnect the Factory Radio

With the trim out of the way, remove the screws holding the factory radio and CD player in place. Slide the units out and disconnect every wiring harness plugged into the back. Step 5: Connect All Wiring to the New Unit

With the circuit board secured, connect the included Topdisplay wiring harness adapter to the back of the new unit. This is fully plug-and-play — no wire splicing required. Connect the main power/speaker harness, the antenna adapter, USB cables, and the CAN bus module. The gold-anodized heat sink on the back is a nice touch — it keeps the 8-core processor cool during long drives with Wireless CarPlay running.

Step 6: Mount the Unit into the Dashboard

Lift the assembled unit into the dashboard cavity. Align the side brackets with the factory mounting holes and secure everything with the original screws. Take care not to pinch any wires behind the unit — tuck them neatly into the cavity as you push the unit into place. A power driver makes quick work of this, but hand-tightening gives you more feel.

Step 7: CRITICAL — Power-On Test Before Final Reassembly

CRITICAL: Before snapping all the trim back on, reconnect the battery and turn the key to ACC. The Topdisplay unit should boot up to the Android home screen. Verify that the touchscreen responds, sound comes through the speakers, the backup camera triggers (if equipped), and the climate controls show up on screen. If anything isn't working, now is the time to double-check your harness connections — much easier with the trim still off.

Step 8: Pair Your Phone, and Enjoy

Everything checks out? Reinstall the dash trim panels — they snap back in just as easily as they came off. Once everything is buttoned up, head into Settings to pair your phone via Bluetooth for Wireless CarPlay or Android Auto. Dial in your EQ settings, set up your navigation app of choice, and take a moment to appreciate how that 12.1-inch QLED transforms the entire cabin.
